She's taken up the habit of singing when she colors, but her tempo is a bit off with some songs -- with "Row, Row Your Boat" she sings the first two lines at breakneck speed, then slows down "merrily" to "mary-mary" and waits for someone else to sing the last line. With "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", she combines the middle two lines to "up above the diamond sky".
Tomorrow is the Mountain Youth Festival and the Duck Derby (both of which benefit Cougar Pride, a local non-profit community asset-building program) so we're debating taking Laurel down during the elementary school time to swim since the Buchanan Park rec center pool is much more play-oriented, although I may be used to write up the results of the heats during the duck race so Himself would have to come along too.
On that note, if you'd like to reserve a duck ($3 for one or two for $5; there are cash prizes to the top 3 finishers and numerous 'lame duck' prizes of goods and services from local businesses) in the race, call me at home (number on my contact page) or cell before 1630 tomorrow.
