Friday: Went to Waffle House for the last time and encountered masses of teenagers in the parking lot, I'd guess post-game from the cheerleader outfits and team t-shirts. We were minorly bothered by how old they looked. After sitting down, we found out they had just stiffed the entire waitstaff on tips. Would have run them down because we had the nicest waitress ever despite their poor diner behavior, but it would have dented the car.
Saturday: Stopped by
After getting home I waded into a puddle to extract Laurel and get her back in the house (she lets herself out if you don't lock the screen door) and netted 5-6 ant bites, which immediately turned into dime-size raised welts. Put Bendaryl cream on them and tried not to scratch, but took a few pictures immediately after first cream application because I'd never had welts like that before.
Sunday: Woke up with hives from the base of my toes up to my ankle from the ant bites, so not much got done. Called home to get updated on the engagement (Branden proposed to Amy Friday night) and see what Mom recommended for hives -- antihistamines and an oatmeal bath. Had v. strange dreams during the afternoon as I hadn't slept well the night before and managed to sleep through the This Old House special. *sigh*
Today: Slept with an old sock covering damp oatmeal packed on my hives so I woke up with less itch, but no water. Water service has no idea why we have no water again (this is the second or third time this has happened in the last year despite our always paying early/on time) and promised to have it back on by noon tomorrow. Whee. Went to Michael's for some plastic canvas shapes and plastic needles for a "needlework" kit to keep Laurel amused on Thursday's flights and also picked up a few coloring books for her and a cute Wilton gingerbread wedding chapel kit for Amy.
With my current bandwidth issues I probably won't get around to typing up that list,
