Remember that 1982 Sesame Street cross-stitch pattern book that I can't seem to get on eBay due to snipers? Got one thanks to Buy It Now, and for less than the ones I've missed out on go for.

Also found one of the two 1983 McCall's Sesame Street puppet patterns and placed the opening bid, but I expect not to win it since I don't want it enough to offer more than $10 for such a small pattern.

Those of new to reading me: I love classic (prior to a certain red Muppet becoming obscenely popular) Sesame Street. If this skeeves you out, you might want to bow out before I disturb you. On the other hand, if you have 1984 or earlier Sesame stuff and want to sell/trade, drop me a line.

One of the patterns in the leaflet I bought is Grover. Let me know if you'd like me to make copy of the Grover pattern for you.

If you'd like a Grover LJ userpic, I have a bunch including a few Super Grover ones. (:

wahh! can you photocopy the leaflet for me? I mean, since Gloria and Pat are both dead now, its kosher, right? :)

No problem. I keep meaning to build a database of all the pattern books and stitching magazines I have and stick it in my geek.net space so friends and whomever can see what I have -- a lot of what I do have right now is hard to find or out of print.

BTW, did the Dove Truffle Eggs you wrote about come in a little window-front cardboard box of three individually wrapped eggs? I've got a box sitting on my counter that I picked up a few days ago when I saw them and wondered if they were the same candy eggs you wrote about.

You got Dove Truffle Eggs???? You lucky bean, you. Yes, they either came 3 in a box, or foil wrapped individually like Cadbury eggs.

Hey, how big should I make your Keeperkeeper?

I would have bought the entire tray, but I wanted to make sure they were the right thing first. When we go out tomorrow, I'll snap up any I see for you so I have more than one little box to mail. (:

About the size of the one that came with my Keeper should do; it's 4" high by 3" wide finished including a simple drawstring at the top (a generous 5/8" for the drawstring to pass through, 3/8" seam allowance on the sides and bottom).

You are marvelous.

I used to carry around a circa 1978 Big Bird doll. :-) I think it got trashed a long time ago. His neck had an indentation right around where I'd carry him. :-)

AND I HATE ELMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother wore an indentation in the neck of a stuffed rabbit he had, but I've never been quite that attached to a stuffed animal. I was more into small things I could carry around in my pockets, or socks when I didn't have pockets. (:

I despise Elmo, but Laurel went through a phase where she couldn't get enough of him! Thankfully she's more interested in toys that don't talk to her now, so the big thing around here is her dollhouse and where her dollhouse people can play -- I've found them on the counter and tucked into the laundry basket, including in the pockets of uniforms I was ironing one time.

Elmo is cute, but Sesame Street is so different now. I wish it was like it was when I was little. I would probably still watch it! haha.

When I was younger my favorite thing was that man in the cup that would slide around on the cabinets. I couldn't get enough of that.

I'm glad you found your pattern you wanted! There's nothing like the classics. :)

teeny little superguy! i think it's oddharmonic who has an icon of him, actually, isn't it?
Apr. 25th, 2003 04:55 am (UTC)
Yes! I couldn't think of his name. Yeah, she might. I love that guy. :)

I love Sesame Street! Although I don't think I'd have the patience for cross-stitching... I also loved Pinwheel when I was a kid.
