I'd been snoozing on the couch with the squeakinator when Vogon remembered he needed to buy some C cell batteries to try out the PediPaws. (I am dubious of the device, but he bought it.)

Five minutes after he left, Squeaky began meowing piteously because he noticed Daddy had left. I told him "If you're going to make that noise, we can always take a shower together!" He quieted down, but a drowsy Laurel in the other room said "I'd rather take a shower by myself, thanks."

Virgo wanted to try out PediPaws, too, so we picked it up at Walgreens. The cats don't seem so freaked out by it as much as they just don't want to sit still long enough for us to do it. The people who made that are laughing all the way to the bank.

(Even my friend with dogs said that dogs aren't cooperative, either).

Squeaky does not like the sound, he does not want it near him, and clawed Vogon pretty good in his attempts to get away.

I think on Monday I shall bribe him with treats to let me clip his nails. It's not that hard and I have a nice set of clippers that look like a pair of wire nippers. I like them.

I have clippers, too, but no one wants to hold still long enough for me to do that, either! Part of it is because I'm nervous they'll jerk while I'm clipping, though. So instead we just take them in and get the boys' nails trimmed. We don't worry about the girl cat's nails.

Oh, you are hitting on the very subject Ed and I had the other day for Willow's back claws.

She is SO skittish, so I was very skeptical--but she is a regular Freddy Krueger right now...

heh, poor laurel!

hush didn't MIND pedipaws. but his nails are so tough that it took one whole head's worth of sandpaper to get one paw. one. *sigh*

we're still at the rate where it's just a little more to get him groomed professionally.

My mother laughed when I asked if they wanted a PediPaws. They just have the groomer trim the girls' claws when they're in for their regular grooming.

Squeaky does not like anything that makes mechanical noises except for the sewing machine, which I think might hypnotize him because he sits quietly and just watches. (:

heh. do you dangle a watch in front of his face when you sew?
