My headache came back. I think my brain is melting. Grragh.

Laurel thinks skirts over pants are "FASH-ion" and that I am a mean mother to reply "no, that's extra laundry until you start doing your own, kiddo."

I have some things to finish for Christmas gifts and realized that I leave for Colorado a week from today, so I'd better get them done this weekend. Also, I have to whip up a couple more zipper pouches to hold stethoscopes in the jump bags, find a couple of 1/2 inch D-rings (if we have any) for making Squeaky some seasonal collars, and put on my big girl pants to cut fearlessly into the 40-yard roll of batting (thanks, trshtwns01, for sending me a link to that one-day sale!).

I am going to make pumpkin bread today (minus the nuts) as muffins.

I saw someone mention watching The Banana Splits as a kid and wanted to note that the Cartoon Network sister station Boomerang currently airs it. I watched back to back episodes at 10 AM Mountain on weekday mornings this summer, but their current schedule has that block at 7 AM Eastern on weekend mornings.

I LOVE Boomerang. Before we moved, it was the ONLY channel I'd let my kid watch not only because it carries the "good stuff" but because it has NO commercials. Now I have a new cable provider and we don't get beloved Boom. Now he's barraged with ads for crap. If he asks me for an Oscar Myer "Lunchable" one more time I'll . . . eat him for lunch.

How long are you going to be up here?

Until the 31st. While Skate the Lake last year wasn't awful (it was freezing cold thanks to the wind), I'd rather ring in the new year at home with Vogon.

I know we've tried to plan lunch the last couple of times you've been visiting, but the plans seem to fall through. Do you want to try it again? Are you going to have any free time on the 27th or 28th?

I have nothing scheduled for vacation, so let me know when works for you. I can get down to Denver without much advance planning but a trip to the Springs would probably involve karaksindru.

Also -- Com-fucking-cast hasn't picked up Boomerang in my area yet. Assholes.

I think Boomerang might have been on whatever digital cable provider my parents used to have, but they switched to DIRECTV last year so I watched it this past summer on that.

I have no idea if we can get Boomerang with the computer TV card (Vogon said it picks up something like 400 channels) but we only have expanded basic cable for the lone TV in our house.

A Thought
Along the lines of your until, is there something else that Laurel might do in exchange for getting to wear skirts over pants? I reälize that she's not yet a strapping teenager, and that there are thus limits to what she might do, but perhaps you could offer her a trade. If she accepts, then your net burden needn't be increased; and if she rejects the deal, she takes ownership of not getting to wear skirt over pants.

Re: A Thought
I offered her the option of folding her clothing before putting it away as a compromise, but she declined.

We have been having a more concerning issue a more concerning issue relating to clothing; skirts over pants may be a symptom of it so we will be visiting her pediatrician.

I'm glad (though unsurprised) that you're alert.
