This just in: an anonymous commenter thinks I advocate homosexuality to children.

Dear commenter, if you aren't brave enough to sign your name to a comment, why should I believe what you have to say?

I hope my readers in Michigan avoid patronizing Genesys Regional Medical Center if the anonymous commenter is representative of the medical center's views.

what a fucking idiot the commentor is. must feel very strongly about his/her views if he/she doesn't even have the balls to sign his/her name.

I'm used to sanctimonious comments being anonymous.

I got a hilariously misspelled one awhile back from an anti-vaccination breeder who thinks the HPV vaccine Gardasil is dangerous and unnecessary since you won't get HPV if you're married and you and your husband don't sleep around.

they were kinda slow on the draw, huh?

The website says one of their values is:

Reverence: Respect and compassion for the dignity and diversity of life.

Apparently that isn't true. Not that you can trust anyone who runs a hospital just to try and convert sick and vulnerable people to their religion. *eyeroll*

Man, I should start actually advocating homosexuality to children.

I think you need to mention free Nintendo Wii systems or iPods to get kids to join a cause nowadays.

Good for you, logging IP addresses. I generally disable anonymous posting, because I think anon posting is lame. I think you're a very positive parent, btw. Keep up the good work.

I've gotten a few anonymous comments like that over the years...not about homosexuality or anything, but just being anti-whatever-I'm-typing-about. And they usually come months after the post, like the comment you received.

D00d. You are so tehgay-est parent evaaaar. I mean, your sprogling is so flaming we all call her The Torch. :D

Seriously, wtf? That's up in the Flint-y area here. Huh.
Jan. 13th, 2007 05:21 am (UTC)
We prefer Hothead Paisan or Buster Wilde to "The Torch".

Speaking of which, do I have my Buster Wilde icon uploaded to LJ? It's him at a pool table shouting "I smell lesbians!".

Is Flint known for its compassionate conservatism? I don't wander that far into the Frozen North anymore.

Sure - attack the anonymous comenter now... but you'll be wishing you listened when your kids turn out TOTALLY GAY and have to go to hell...

I think that every parent secretly hopes that their children dont have to go to hell.

Also, I think that homosexuality is avoidable and that dinosaur bones were buried by the jews in 1934.

If my daughter turns out totally gay, I will throw her a Fabulous Coming Out Gala on par with that "My Super Sweet 16" show.

I'll be sure to invite your whole family... once they pay for tickets to the catered dinner with payment in Chick Tracts and beautiful virgins.

and that dinosaur bones were buried by the jews in 1934.

Suck on that, James Dobson!

But... who else did I catch teh gay from if it wasn't you? I mean, it's not too bad of a case since I'm just abusing heterosexual privilege by claiming interest in men as well as women, but still! If you're not advocating it, how else did it happen?

God, I can barely even keep that crap up for a whole paragraph. I almost cut my hands off just there to make myself stop.

I love your icon.

I got a random "you and everything you say suck" anonymous comment a while back, but I ended up deleting it because it was so worthless. At least this one has given us all the opportunity to mock. :-)

if you teach your child love, love is what they'll see.

if you teach your child shame and dirt, well, the same goes.

you have to know i'm with you on this one.

My child sees color everywhere, or so I guess from the fact that she keeps coloring on herself with markers. The other day she did a pretty good rendition of the eyebrow line of an auguste clown face (it has white areas just around the mouth and above the eye; you can see step-by-step how the three primary styles of clown faces go on here: http://www.mehron.com/clowning/instructional_index.cfm ) and the dots that accentuate the eyebrow's natural motion. In marker.

My mother almost peed herself laughing when I told her what Laurel did. Now I think they're plotting to plan her clown face and use Sarah's long-outgrown first clown wig for the shorty when she visits them in the summer. I bet she'd love it if they do the local rodeo parade this year. (:
