It's book fair time again!

This week is the spring Scholastic Book Fair at Laurel's school and her class browsed the books yesterday. She chose two Barbie sticker books (!) for her wish list, so I talked with her about how she could get one sticker book and a couple of reading books for the same cost as two sticker books. (I also pointed out that our local dollar store usually has Barbie stickers and seven packages of stickers go a lot farther than a single sticker book.)

This morning, Vogon and I stopped by the book fair after taking her to school and picked out some books for her:

Since her teacher didn't have any wish list slips filled out yet, we bought a book from the music teacher's wish list: Click Clack, Splish Splash, a counting book with the characters from Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type (a great gift for any ankle-biters in your life). While I was looking up a link to it for this post, I was tickled to find there's a new book coming out this summer in that line, Dooby Dooby Moo. The cover art set me off giggling. Darn those hilarious cows. (;

Reading this entry about Scholastic Book Fairs reminds me of a simpler time and place in my life. How nostalgic. In 4th grade I remember picking out a book at the fair and paying entirely in pennies I found around the house. Ahh, good times, good times. Thanks for the memories!

again with the great memories! and the search was on, trying to find dino and hard science books, since we had so many. :D

i loved those things, the flimsy paper previews they sent home, then the fair itself, where i would go and try to find more...
