In good news, the swelling went down enough to proceed with an uncomplicated simple extraction this morning while Vogon and Laurel had breakfast at Grandy's. I really like how the dentist works and am looking forward to returning for more work so I can show my teeth when I smile and not feel self-conscious. (Not bad for nearly ten years since my last dentist visit!)
Laurel was unpleasantly noisy and bouncy this morning while the Novocaine was wearing off, but after a prescription painkiller at lunchtime, I'm spacey but at a tolerable pain level while Laurel plays nurse. She periodically comes over and squeezes my hand, reads her notes to me (she read one as "if you puke, use the toilet or a bucket and don't puke on the carpet!"), and puts stuffed animals on me. I thought I was hallucinating that, but she did it at lunch while Vogon was here. I think she expects payment in a Strawberry Shortcake doll, as that's what she keeps talking to me about, along with things I know are on the adverts on Cartoon Network -- she reminded me when Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy came on so I could watch it because I love Mandy.
