Laurel is eating edamame like it's going out of style. She had her own order at lunch today and polished the rest off for an afternoon snack, after eating almost half of the bag we steamed up yesterday. [insert joke about the "dangers" of soy here]
I am finally feeling the itch to put something on the walls here. It's not worthy of stopping the presses, but it is a personal record that I've been living here for almost a year and the only thing I've done to the bare walls have been to hang a message board and an iron holder. I want something stunning (like a blow to the head) to hang over the sofa and dazzle neighbors looking in since I leave the balky blinds in the living room open by default. I told Vogon at lunch that I'd really like a giant nude, but it's been hard finding one I like so my decision was down to outsize prints of Hokusai's The Great Wave (60x40") or a Hiroshige's Navaro Rapids (40x55") when I spotted something even better -- a Gladiator Cycles reproduction print, neatly combining taste, naked women and a touch of the surreal in one. I so want it mounted over the couch, though that would require getting off my arse and finding out if Lowe's will cut a piece of MDF if I buy it. (My local store has 3/4x49x97" panels for $23.75, which would be enough for the aforementioned poster plus a 27x40" movie poster I have stored with a good amount of scrap to spare.)
