In search of more Fun Chops yesterday, I wound up at Asian Food Grocer, where I also picked up Fujiya Milky candy, a children's rice bowl with penguins on it and a metric buttload of 3" square origami paper. While poking around looking at the fun things they, I spotted a Hello Kitty toaster and was overwhelmed by cuteness. The power of cuteness compels you to look at it. The power of cuteness compels you!

Two surveys on LJ/blogging for the interested:
- one seeking fresh data for a conference paper with a random prize for every 30 responses;
- weetanya is writing a paper about LiveJournal and is looking for folks who started journals when they were 18 or younger to answer a few questions..

Also: Happy birthday, lil_sass!

Phew! I 'm overwhelmed with the wishes. Thanks SO much for always being there.

I forgot to thank you also for transcribing Chaz & Asia's phone post.

You're welcome!

Laurel loved listening to that phone post and kept talking back to them. I think I'm due to make one now so everyone can hear her chatter. (:

I have that toaster. It's worth noting that it leaves Hello Kitty face-prints on your toast, too.

Laurel would love that!

I'm still marveling that our basic toaster has a Pop-Tart setting. (:

LMAO I have a toaster that has a Pop-Tart setting too. I think I have used it a total of 5 times in the 3 years I have had it. I have to admit I would love to buy the Hello Kitty toaster but Mike would shoot me on the spot. There is more than enough girlie stuff in the house as it is. =)

Our house is girly, full stop. Luckily Vogon doesn't mind too much and can retreat to his study if the need arises.

My house is pretty girlie. The only boyish area would have to be the storage shed outside. Mike and Micheal are simply outnumbered so they gave in years ago. =) I'll spare them the Hello Kitty toaster only because Mike was sweet about it when I showed him. He said it was cute and if I wanted it I could get it. I just had to promise not to make his toast in it. =)

i totally want that toaster. they have so many cute HK appliances at the sanrio store.

I've never been in a Sanrio store, but I suspect Laurel would think it's heaven. I'd probably like it too if there's a penguin character. (:

the other day in home depot i saw a disney princess waffle iron and i wanted it so badly! i wanted princesses engrained onto my waffles! alas, i already have a waffle iron. but a boy can dream....

I am SO glad we didn't see that on our last trip to Home Depot or Laurel would have thrown a tantrum upon being told we weren't getting it! I would get such a kick out of character waffles, but we picked out our current waffle iron because it makes square waffles that fit neatly into sandwich-size bags for freezing.

Laurel adores Disney princeses lately. She keeps astonishing me with her ability to run in heels and has been talking about wanting a "belle dress", so I guess it's time to dig out that pattern and sew one up. I'd rather be Mulan and have a dragon sidekick. (;

that bowl is so cute!!
I want to leave comments all the time and always say "after i do this, or clean, or whatever and i always forget. hope you are doing well!

could you send me your addy so i can send something for laurel??

It seems to be a running theme in my family to associate animals with certain family members, so I pick out and have been given penguin items and Laurel has the same with rabbits. I'll probably pick up a rabbit soup bowl for her in the future and she'll love it even more because it's pink. (:

Vogon pointed out to me that I keep leaving tons of Opera windows open because I start to comment and get distracted, so I'm working on making sure I complete my thought, comment and close windows now before opening more.

I've sent you an e-mail.
