Kinky Friedman for Governor 2006

Did you save yourself for Kinky?

If you're a Texas registered voter that didn't vote in the primary election (and don't plan to vote in a runoff election, should one be necessary), you are eligible to sign a petition for the independent candidate of your choice to be included on the November ballot.

This year's major independent candidates are Kinky Friedman, motto "why the hell not?", and Carole Keeton Strayhorn, motto "one tough grandma". She's also known for being [White House Press Secretary] Scott McClellan's mom and revoking the tax-free status of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Texas because it "does not have one system of belief" in 2004 -- a ruling that was later overturned.

We're registered Libertarians, but he stands a better chance of being elected than James Werner. (Plus the Libertarians already have ballot access so they don't need 45,540 signatures to get their candidate on the ballot.)
