Friday Five: a housing situation (copied from old weblog)

I know this is the latest I've ever posted an F5 (not counting last week where I posted an old one in the morning and the new one that evening), but I'm still doing jury duty (see the next post for more).

the friday five

1. Do you live in a house, an apartment or a condo? At the moment, my parents' house. In the past I've lived in a college dorm and a base housing duplex, among other places.

2. Do you rent or own? My parents own. They feel it's a waste to rent since that money's not building equity.

3. Does anyone else live with you? Obviously, my parents. Also living here are my two younger siblings (both in school), my daughter (we're a package deal), and for the next few weeks, the 16-year-old daughter of a former neighbor.

4. How many times have you moved in your life? More than I want to count. I've only moved once in the past year, though -- whew.

5. What are your plans for this weekend? Not thinking too much about jury duty (we reconvene on Monday morning), reading my new books (Kay Redfield Jamison's An Unquiet Mind and Night Falls Fast), and spending some quality time with Laurel.

Jury Duty, part II. (copied from old weblog)

The trial started Tuesday. It is indeed a criminal trial and I can't really say any more, except that I'll post after it's finished 'cause it's truly too weird to believe.

Deliberating started today and we didn't finish, but that's a Good Thing because we're considering everything very carefully. I'm not entirely looking forward to reconvening at 0800 Monday, but if we start early we'll hopefully end by 1700 so my ride won't have to wait too long for me.

If the weather cooperates (awfully thundery the past few days), you'll see me on a lot this weekend because I think best when I'm distracting myself with tasks that keep my hands busy like needlework, which I've done a lot of this week, typing, etc..

Take care all, and thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I haven't gone nuts yet this week. (:
