Photo: Laurel in her Halloween costume.

We're going out trick-or-treating, but I thought you'd like a sneak peek. Happy Halloween!

Every time I see her in a picture, I hope she doesn't grow out of the cuteness until she's grown up enough to be beautiful.

We're tentatively planning to sell the costume on eBay next year, but I think it'll wind up being with a second set of pants and top because Laurel didn't want to take hers off at bedtime.

A) Laurel is adorable

B) That is one kick-ass costume

C) Where did you get those shoes?! I love them!!!!!

p.s. Speaking of shoes, I have two really nice pairs of size 13 (toddler) shoes of Emily's -- one formal with a teeny heel, one a causal-type navy-blue maryjane -- that she's long since grown out of and they're so nice I hate to throw them out. Is Laurel approaching a size 13?

1. Thank you.

2. I'm still amazed that it came out so well, given my questionable abilities to follow directions. The shirt was made from a purchased sewing pattern and I winged the chaps from the same pattern because I was too lazy to sew a whole pair of pants when she has perfectly good jeans I could baste chaps onto for a night.

3. The boots, belt and hat all came from Cavender's Boot City. I spent most of my first visit there trying not to ask if they sell boots that would go well with a clown outfit. (My folks' family business is party and event clowning.)

Laurel's probably a few years out from wearing that size, so I'm interested. Is there anything you'd like in trade?

I can't think of anything off the top of my head that Emily wants/needs. Frankly, knowing somebody I know (even if only through LJ) is getting use out of them is enough. E-mail me your address and I'll ship them out.

wheeee! Laurel is adorable and that costume rocks. You are such a great mommy. I just posted photos of our family's costumes.

I caught that expression just as Vogon said "Look at your mommy, she's taking the photos!" because she was looking at and talking to him.

I loved your post. I love the idea of baby devils -- I imagine them screaming the minute the camera's off them, or plotting like Stewie from Family Guy.

That's EXACTLY how Roman is. We kept joking that he didn't need a costume. I do call him, Angel Baby, so go figure. He's into throwing tantrums and pinching. He's preparing for the Terrible Twos, I believe.
