I received an e-mail from Robert Hayden today about an album he bought. I'm really touched that Vanessa-Mae reminds him of me.

In lieu of real content, here's some commentary on what I've been reading online lately.

And because I'm too lazy to make a separate announcement post, August 2004 photos were posted to oddharmonic.org a few days ago.

*ponders believing this is simply a hell of a bargain and buying you anyway..* *grin*

You know, the Intuos 3 is nice and all, but I can't believe they killed the transparency on the plastic sheet over the drawing area. I really think that until I can find a way to switch it back to a clear one I'm sticking with my Intuos 2; I seem to be one of about 12 people that actually uses that to trace sketches. Now, if they'd let you buy it without the sorry excuse for a mouse they package with it for a lower cost... (I don't care how much they claimed they improved it; the first time I used the one with the Intuos2 I almost hurled it the window it was that bad).

I'll have to check out the photos when I'm feeling less likely to either a) kill my neighbor's dogs because they haven't stopped barking for the last 3 hours, or b) collapse from exhaustion at my desk, thus getting keyboard-face. I'm quite sure they're great though. (=

The only tablet I've ever had was an Aiptek serial tablet I found in a clearance bin for $10. I used the transparent overlay periodically, but it was a pain to to press so hard for a response compared to when I've tried Wacom tablets. I probably wouldn't use the bundled mouse since I'm rather attached to my trackball. (I've been using the same one since 1996. *ducks*)

The photos are just a usual best-of-the-month batch shot with my 2 MP, so they're kidlet, plants and clouds with a few shots from my sister's wedding. You might want to avert your eyes at the latter, they're a little scary. In my next lifetime, I'll learn how to shoot event photos. *wry grin*

Well, there's really not any tangible change in pressure required for the Intuos 2 when you've got paper in there... matter of fact, I tend to leave paper in there even when I'm not using it to trace; it's both easier to see where the boundaries are and easier to lift it up when I need to. And mine was (for a Wacom, anyway) a steal; a fraction of the used price, even, because when the local video game company lays off all of its artists, they have a lot of hardware they'd like to sell quickly. I just wish I could have snagged some monitors as well.

But really, even if you didn't love your trackball you still would never ever use the mouse. I have never met a single person anywhere who uses that mouse. I personally appreciate the precision of my Logitech optical.

I agree with him, except you're hotter.
