Domestic musing, breadmaking and zippered vinyl project bags.

It's been awhile since I had a weekend as lovely as the just-past one and the promise of half a Spud Au Broc from Jason's Deli in the fridge is keeping me on track today. (Laurel had her usual kids' salad bar for lunch there today and is still talking about the watermelon. Crazy kid. *g*)

Vogon surprised me this morning with the AC off and the living room patio door screen in place with the blinds open. Since the screen door has a habit of jumping its track and I've never been able to get the blinds open (I know there's a trick to it, I've just had No Luck Whatsoever all the times I've tried), it's been bright and cheery all day. I could get used to this.

I retrieved the breadmaker from its perch above the kitchen cabinets this morning and cleaned it off. My current plan is to bake a loaf or two of zucchini bread in it and bake a batch of banana bread muffins in the oven today.

The cult of FLYlady owns me. This week's zone is the living room and I'm thinking about making vinyl-and-cloth zippered project bags to hold our various works-in-progress (WIPs) since I've got Laurel's things under control and the remaining disorganization causes in the living room are related to things that need to go out (a box for Goodwill, a box full of packing peanuts, shipping materials, etc.) and sewing errata (cloth that needs to be stored, WIPs, other tools and materials). Purchased sweater bags could work for this, but we've got plenty of fabric, clear vinyl and zippers so I might as well make our own.
