On the potty-training front, we discovered the sprayer head on the hose attached to the second sink in the master bath removes poop from Laurel much more efficiently than the handheld showerhead and, more importantly, Laurel spontaneously sat down and pooped in her potty today. V. proud of the latter.

I want to start liking the metallic thread I'm finishing New World Discovery with. It feels like a third of the three-ply Kreinik cord I couched on a piece in the past, but it tangles like nothing I've ever seen. If I can just hang in there for the remainder of it (several hundred stitches around the border of one strand each of metallic and floss), I'll be in the home stretch of three strands of floss half-stitches, backstitching and french knots, but today I put it down instead. I am amazed at myself, but I need to get my hands on an appropriate-sized scroll frame to work on Amy's wedding piece.

Hooray for pooping!

Using metallic thread drives me insane; it takes 50x longer to do anything. It looks so pretty though!

Congrats on the potty, too!

I've been poky at progressing with the metallic thread (the other specialty thread in the project was filament, which I prefer to the cord-feeling stuff I'm using now) but vogonpoet's father admired it when he saw it today and asked where we plan to hang it after it's finished. I was all blushing after that. (:

Vogon thinks regular potty use is coming up any day now, which is good. I think visiting a few preschools and offering that she can go once she uses the potty will help too.

y'know, if/when your tyke manages to:
a) grow a sense of modesty, and
b) find these journal entries (most likely in her teen years, where everything is lifethreateningly horrifying to the psyche)

...you're gonna need lots of therapy money. ;)

If she inherits modesty from her father, it won't be a problem. If she inherits it from me, I'll be able to help her deal with it.

I figure she'll eventually need therapy anyway since having a bunch of clowns in the family tree could be a real stressor to any teen. (;
