Just heard two F-15s flying over and it mildly startled me. When we lived on base, it seemed the windows were constantly rattling from whatever was approaching or leaving at the time. Although the house was on a slab, darn near everything in the house would rattle despite cork under furniture legs, non-adhesive shelf paper, etc.. (We won't go into the walls' noise. *g*) Now I hear fly-overs only a few times a day, and they seem to be louder on cloudy days. It's nice.
The quietness of living off-base is good.
