Laurel adds "Happy holidays," which will turn into "Happy birthday" later in the day (and then to "Happy Hannukah").

She likes winter holiday DVDs (Elmo's World: Happy Holidays and some Nick Jr. thing with three shows' holiday eps) so much we watch them at least weekly. That's where the "happy holidays" and "happy Hannukah" come from.

She just picked up the birthdays from Sesame Street and family birthday celebrations. Naturally, her favorite part is cake.

Winter Holiday stuff is awesome. I adore Xmas Specials.

Speakin' of which (this is a lie), what all Miyazaki-age do you have? Like, do you have Totoro already? Or Spirited Away? Or Castle in the Sky? Or Kiki? Or a brand new puppy?

(the last one's not Miyazaki, but is probably adorable enough to be).

My favorite Christmas specials are the 1960s and '70s Rankin-Bass stop-action animated features. At some point when I have sufficient desire and medium, I'm going to make models of my favorite characters for Christmas ornaments.

In the order you asked: don't have Totoro, have Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky on DVD, and Kiki on VHS. We also have Metropolis on DVD.

Rankin Bass is so much awesome. I love how ABC Family will show a lot of the more obscure ones like the Utterly Depressing "Jack Frost".

I see. Metropolis is Otomo, BTW. At least, IIRC. (Or Fritz Lang, too, I suppose, heh.) I haven't seen the Otomo one, though, but I hear it has nothing to do with the Lang one, which I have seen and recommend.

The only times I've willingly watched ABC Family were for Rankin Bass specials.

Scratch that on having Metropolis -- I was sure I saw it in the DVDs downstairs, but Himself says it was Jose's and would therefore be in Puerto Rico with him now, or in one of the pawn shops near base. Heh. Either way, Himself loves the animated Metropolis.

Thank you, darling! And, yes, I *will* be your marble. ;)
