On that note, I'm grateful she only colors herself when she finds a marker. Unpacking is still kicking my ass but I pinned down the bad smell around the sink to a long-dead mouse in a glue trap under it (I hadn't tackled that cabinet yet since I'm out of shelf paper). I'm half debating just recycling/otherwise ridding the house of a lot of the stuff that came with... I don't want to have to pack as much next time we move and I want to be done with unpacking already so I can talk to the landlord about permitting me to prep, seal and paint the wallpaper in the kitchen (harvest gold flowers with vines on avocado/off-white plaid), bathrooms (stripe/flower garland in off-white, avocado, gold and greyish blue) and above the faux mantel (early 80's delicate flower/stripe pattern).
Speaking of the mantel, the faux brickwork needs a good paint job since it's painfully fake-looking and was probably painted by the same person that did two amorphous pineapples on the kitchen island cabinet doors and similar-quality strawberries on the facing just below the counter next to the fridge.
That said, I'm off to continue unpacking and possibly unpack and reassemble Laurel's Playskool dollhouse -- in her room, as she drags enough toys into the living room as it is.
