Brief Laurel update and a photo.

Over the past week, Laurel's mostly just been her typical self. She's gotten much better feeding herself soup with our Chinese dinner set, though she still pours about half the liquid down her front. After seeing a section of corn on the cob on a wooden skewer for the first time, she asked for one calling it a 'lollipop'. She's getting the hang of going to the couch and sitting/lying on it until she can behave when she throws a tantrum or otherwise doesn't behave well. And she seems to have developed her father's method of separating LEGO bricks by using her mouth.

Since I've been going back and forth with Himself on trimming his beard before we do a family portrait this year, we probably won't have them in time to go out with holiday cards. *shrugs* He'll have to cut it off soon enough anyway. Laurel's getting a haircut later today but I haven't decided between two dresses for her to wear for her portrait yet. I'll post proofs once we've done them.

Now really, who plays with LEGO bricks and doesn't use their teeth to separate them? Except maybe those hoity-toity people that have the special brick separator piece ... lousy lazy bastards, don't want teeth-marks on their LEGO bricks ...

I use a cheese spreader. I used to use a butter knife, but it left marks on my bricks, which upset me as a little burrito.

Now I cruise yard sales to buy bulk LEGO parts. (: Also scored Laurel's off-brand LEGO table (I think you've seen it, it's in the living room) at a yard sale, although I think I scared the lady by offering her cash before I got close enough to read the price tag.

And then there's the LEGO outlet at Colorado Mills... *swoons*
