Not-quite-religious humorous exchange.

While watching the news, I asked Himself if he didn't agree that newly-minted bishop Gene Robinson wasn't a nice-looking man. We then had the following exchange:

Me: What does being consecrated mean? That he popped his bishop cherry?
Himself: [chuckles] I don't know, you were the one raised with religion.
...
Me: What do you think he's going to do now that he's a bishop?
Himself: Move diagonally.

hahaha.."move diagonally" made me chuckle out loud. Of course, being the cynical bastard I am, I would have opted for the answer "cruise for little boys in better neighborhoods".

*snerk* That's probably what I would have said too. I'm working out the end of my bitterness from Catholic upbringing.

I have to expain my "catholic bashing" a lot at work. I have no real issues with most rank and file catholics. Hell, the woman I'm dating is catholic. I do however have huge and angry issues with the machine that is the catholic church. was brought up episcopalian, which I've always referred to as "catholics with condoms". Don't even get me started on the recent crap that came out from the catholic church about condoms and AIDS.

You'd probably laugh a lot around here. Himself is the straight man most of the time, then comes out with stuff like that.

I wish I'd gotten a picture of the kid that purposely walked into the pond in the front garden on Halloween. We were trying really hard not to laugh when the kid's chaperone said "I don't know how you didn't see that." (We put a block of dry ice in a bucket with glow sticks attached to the sides, poured hot water over it, and put the whole shebang in the drained-for-the-season pond.)

I'm going to have to agree with most of the previous respondants. That last response from Himself is so true to form I couldn't help but laugh.

I freaked him out the other day when I mentioned that Mr. Porter had married Miss Meyers (who I didn't know was Kirk's older sister until a few years ago) and had a son a little older than Laurel.
