Meet Squeaky!

Vogon couldn't take the cat-less household any more, so we headed back to Operation Kindness today. The two please-adopt-together adult cats we liked were not too keen on Laurel, so we wished them well and continued visiting the cats. We petted the sweet boy with different colored eyes again and talked to the very talkative seal point we talked to last time. (She is a very sweet girl and her slightly-crossed eyes make her look perpetually surprised or slightly annoyed, depending on which angle you look at her.)

We met two black kitties that were very affectionate and tolerant of Laurel, but Vogon kept wibbling until he turned around and saw an affectionate boy that squeaked at us! His card description: "Squeaky loves to make conversation with everyone! Enjoys being carried, purrs automatically and makes everyone feel welcomed." He was upset by the short car ride home and pooped in the carrier (a huge stench for such a small creature), but checked out the amenities and let us get him started cleaning himself up. Now he's in the master bath acclimating; photos to come.

How pretty! I'm so glad you were able to rescue him! So when he talks it's kind of a "squeak"? How cute!

Operation Kindness has done an amazing job with keeping their adoption fees affordable. Ten years ago the adoption fees for Biko were $80; today an adult cat's adoption fee is $110 and includes microchipping.

And yes, his 'meow' is a squeak. His purring sounds like a tinny rumble, which I also find cute. (:

Yay for a new cat!

Huge congrats. PS, tell your guy about my geek prowess (see latest post) only a few tech types would appreciate the awesomeness of what I've done.

The cat has decreased our overall stress level immensely and Vogon's the most relaxed he's been all month. His adoption fees are the best money in a budget crunch we've ever spent.

Vogon says "while I'm not wild about the Mac part, I appreciate his audacity and sticking to it." (This is high praise from him.)

Dude, okay. You may think it's something you can put off, but right now you need to start training him to eat watermelon. Otherwise, he'll never get good enough at it to eat a whole one.

I have never seen a cat eat watermelon.

Squeaky is an excellent digger. Unfortunately, every time he uses the litterbox he manages to move almost all of the litter into a single heap which the LitterMaid cannot rake. At least he doesn't show any fascination with sitting around and watching it rake clean afterward, which Bubby did (and made me think of little kids watching the toilet flush).

Oh, kitties are adorable! My cat squeaks too, but he also meows. A lot. All the goddamn time, actually. KITTY@
