I understand that kids grow in spurts and the bikini bottom repeatedly falling off your 8-year-old today will hopefully fit them properly later in the season. However, there is no excuse for letting them EAT IN THE POOL.

Especially Pop Tarts and powdered drink mix. Ew.

What about Tang? Then the pool water could become a delicious orange-flavored treat!

That would have been a lot funnier when the girl eating drink mix stuck her finger into her single-serve drink mix packet and withdrew it a shocking red. I had a flashback to the Carrie shower scene.

...maybe they're not playing the pool, but preparing a large child stew. Those are just the other flavors.

Well, they were being not-really-supervised by their grandmother, who brought Irish stew to the cultural heritage potluck, and in Tom Lehrer's "Irish Ballad", the Irish stew was made from a baby brother...

Is your family alright in CO from the tornado? I cannot remember if they are in Boulder or Denver..... I hope everyone is okay!!

I'm at a loss for a polite way to explain to the kids that eating in a shared pool is both inconsiderate and gross. It was easy to explain to Laurel: "If you were eating in the bathtub and dropped food in the water, would you want to stay in the tub?"

My family lives in the mountains about an hour southwest of Denver, where the terrain makes tornadoes a non-issue. The area hit by the tornadoes is about two hours' drive north of my parents.
