Photo: Laurel's flaming foam clogs

Laurel got a Croc-A-Doodles kit at Christmas and tried them out on an older pair of knockoff foam clogs she had. She had some trouble with fine control with the washable paint pens and wanted the results to be brighter, so we cleaned the old clogs off and I took a couple bottles of dimensional fabric paint to them.

Now she has a flamin' set of clogs to wear around the house:

She loves to have her hair styled and I have to trim her bangs this weekend anyway... ooh, you fashion enabler. (:

She wore them to school today and they didn't match her outfit at all! I was touched and amazed.

Now I think we'll have to make some clothes to go with them.

Fun times! She can decorate my Croc's (if I ever get any) anytime!

If you had a pair of foam clogs, Laurel would pick out charms that fit through the holes. She has a sandwich-size bag full of ones we've bought and made (Oriental Trading sells blanks) so at any given time everyones' clogs have charms on them except for Vogon's because he wears his to work.

She insisted on wearing them to school today even though they don't coordinate with her outfit. I was touched.

I had fun -- we looked at pictures of flames painted on things first, then I freehanded outlines onto the shoes and Laurel filled them in. We make a pretty good team on crafts.
