Today marks the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

I am thankful it has not been overturned yet.

I am thankful for every private and public health care provider that offers women's health care with compassion, understanding and a minimum of moral judgment.

I am thankful for every person who offers support to women who have made choices about their reproductive health, regardless of the outcome.

And I don't regret the abortion I had.

Have you read this post yet?

BTW, thanks for your help while I was on the road the other day! :)

I have. I really don't like the hormonal contraception = abortion argument.

I never have a problem checking weather reports for you! It's nice to have access to that on long road trips; I've been there with the CO-NC moves.

"And I don't regret the abortion I had."

*hug* I don't regret mine, either.

*hugs back* Speaking of pro-family, I hope the story you wrote the other day about young Edward makes it into your book. I loved it so much that Laurel and I reread it together. She remarked that she wants to be a good parent like Anna someday and drew a picture. In true-to-Laurel interpretative fashion, it involved a lot of sparkly bits. Would you like me to take a photograph of it for you?

Indeed. I feel like I should have profound things to say on this topic given my line of work and studies, but my brain feels mushy right now....so "indeed" will have to do.

Here's to another 35 years, since while I feel that it should go without saying that women should be able to make that choice, I know enough to understand that the protection needs to be there else the government will meddle.

Indeed is enough.

I am uncomfortable with the way certain legislators are trying to undermine reproductive law by attempting to define hormonal contraception as abortion.

Yay! Yesterday was a good day. We have work to do, but it was a good day. At the Planned Parenthood event we had a big cake and balloons, along with a speaker talking about the legislative issues against RvW.

Being able to talk with Sarah Weddington last fall really gave a new dimension to things. A lot deeper than I ever thought it would be. But it made that drive to get things done even deeper.
