I spent a little more than I had hoped to on Laurel's back-to-school shopping but I think we did pretty well.

All she needed were pants (sewing denim is slow) and a few dresses to tide her over until I sew some more, so we went to Kohl's this morning to take advantage of today's early bird specials and pick over their clearance racks.

We came away with two pairs of jeans, two pairs of cotton leggings, a pair of embellished capris, a broomstick-pleated skirt, two dresses and a swimsuit for next summer for $75 including tax.

I think some of my sister's shopping mojo is finally rubbing off on me.

THANK GOD our two kids are out of school! Or at least out of house (killiara). Let her hubby spend on her wardrobe. Our two were never fashion plates in desperate need of the latest fashions and styles - just good, clean, comfortable, easy to care for clothes. May was usually the arbiter of style in our house, and especially concerning the clothing budget. Growth spurts are a bitch, especially with children of two different sexes, so hand me downs were out of the question. So kudos on your mojo working.
