Another use for holiday leftovers.

(Well, not quite, though most of the turkey from this year's poor airman's basket went to enchiladas and similar.)

Not wanting to use too much milk (we go through it at a prodigious rate), I grabbed the container of heavy cream when making biscuits to go with tonight's beef stew. Put in just over a cup in the place of milk in drop biscuits (cf. Joy of Cooking; 2 c. flour, 2.5 tsp baking powder, dash salt, 5-6 Tbs butter, 1 c. milk) and damned if they don't have the most luscious flaky/moist texture. I've already eaten 2 and Himself's just now serving up the stew for everyone. Heh.

Thanks for the tip! I'm making creme brulee later this week (Wednesday), and I'll post in my journal about it. Isn't cooking/baking the most fun?
