After trying to sleep in this morning, I put on some pants (bahahaha Four Postmen joke) and walked just over a mile to my local voting location. Several minutes of inking the arrows later, I fed my ballots into the machine that goes ping -- actually more like a quick double beep -- and got a shiny sticker that I cheerfully showed at both stops on the walk home.

While I ponder whether I like Sonic's raspberry limeade, you can giggle at my self-portraiture skills.

The text around the perimeter of the sticker reads "I made freedom count in Denton County, TX".

And for those of you who want just the facts rack, ma'am:

...and yes, I went to vote in a LiveJournal tee.

You TOTALLY get a cookie for posting a self portrait in an LJ tee AND an I voted sticker! GET ON WIT'CHER BAD VOTER SELF!

Yay cookie! What kind? *drools*

I'm still working on my self-portrait skills. It's easier to let Vogon take photos -- or Laurel, but she's still working on taking pictures with my face in them instead of focusing on my shirt artwork. (:

they probably thought you worked for LJ.

I think that'd be more believable if I had been wearing an LJ polo shirt.

They were probably just confused by my "I voted" sticker, since the election had 17% voter turnout statewide and 15% turnout in the county where I voted.

Yer a doll.

Now, have yer LJ name stenciled on the back and see if that brings a response.

And, dang--are your fingers LONG!

It'd be weird to be addressed face-to-face by my username after someone read it off my shirt, though it wouldn't be any weirder than several people all saying "yes?" when a professor would call on someone with a common first name (like mine) in class.

It's usually fun to wear my LJ tee out because at least a few people will nod or smirk knowingly. No one's asked my username after seeing it that didn't already know me or have a friend of a friend in common.

I didn't realize I had long fingers until I went shopping for nice winter gloves a few years ago and was confounded that most pairs were too short in the fingers -- the finger-crotches were too low and I'm not a gangsta. I finally found a pair of suede gloves that fit nicely, but none of the local cleaners I've enquired at clean gloves, so it looks like I'll be replacing them rather than getting them cleaned. Oh well.

Consider piano.

Or, proctology. :)

I've played piano since I was a little burrito. My folks started us early to get the most benefit from music lessons.

Proctology... well, I'd rather be a pharmacist. With major chains now allowing pharmacists to refuse to dispense prescription contraceptives on moral grounds, it might be in my best interest to acquire the appropriate education and licensing to become a pharmacist that doesn't have that moral aversion. I've seriously thought about studying midwifery, but I'm more interested in general women's health, y'know?

Requests for photos of me modeling any of the pieces from my Frederick's clearance haul must be filed in triplicate... so I can poop on it! Sorry, had a little Triumph moment there.

Seriously, I'll write myself a post-it note and see if Vogon's up for lacing/fastening up one of the bustiers from the aforementioned haul and photographing it so I can have a filibuster picture. d:

wow. If you put a horsie on it, you'll have a filly bustier.
*rimshot*

Y'know, you don't really need the bustier for the photoshoots. *innocent whistling*

Re: Long time no see
I switched schools in 1996. Drop me an e-mail (oddharmonic at livejournal.com) if you want the Book-A-Minute version of what led to that and the adventures -- and misadventures -- I've had since then.

I've mostly forgotten my year of college German. Mock at will.

(But I'd like it more if it involves lashing with wet noodles. Mmm, soba...)
