It's been a rough month for our private life with recent health issues, but lunch today drove home that things are getting better. Laurel's crayoned rendition of the sun and moon on our table had Vogon singing "Heavenly" and got that stuck in my head, so we listened to the odd-numbered tracks on We Are In Love on the drive home (it's the best way to listen to that album).

My favorite LJ aunt, clemidia, will appreciate that I thought the house Chianti tasted like communion wine and told Vogon that after he convinced me to try a sip of it... and Laurel's observation that the foaming hand soap in the ladies' room _farts_ into your hand.

The funny thing is, I used to sing it to the nerdsprout when she was little. As a result, we have to turn it up pretty loud so that I don't scare small animals with my howling.

But, I'll confess that it's pretty funny when I randomly am walking around the office and sing, "The man in the moon is smilin'..." and then just continue on with whatever I was doing. I do get some pretty odd looks... eh, but I get those, anyway.

"cause he's in love with the girl in the moon."

most of that album is great for long road trips, to sing loudly...captive audience. :D

my first of his was red light, blue light. i think i have most of his stuff now. ohoh! 'songs i heard', if you don't have it, run out and get it! he does songs from movies he loves. lonely goatherd, and my fave, i've got a golden ticket/i want it now, from willy wonka....that's some good singing to there!

He's being modest. He has quite a nice baritone, which was a lovely surprise the first time I heard him singing a lullaby to the midget. (He'd told me repeatedly before then he didn't sing very well.)

Yep, it's one of Vogon's favorites. He couldn't find his copy a couple of months ago, so he replaced it and the new copy lives in the car -- I haven't even had the chance to import it into iTunes for myself!

My best friend (saarlander) got me hooked on Harry Connick Jr. and gave me a copy of Star Turtle as a gift years ago. I decided a few years ago that any guy I dated had to like at least my favorite music genres, if not share a couple of favorite artists, and we're in big there. (:

Every time I use a bathroom with foaming hand soap now I think about it. I was in one by myself a few days ago (Laurel usually goes with me) and I cracked up at the sinks because I was thinking about it!

Porter Project
Hey, have you had a chance to listen to the Porter Project yet? I really like what they did with Night and Day. It's been stuck in my head all day.

Re: Porter Project
I'd never heard of the album before, but I dug the samples I found for it. Thanks for the recommendation!
