Last night, I figured out why the bag of frozen cloverleaf rolls I picked up last week was on clearance. They thawed somewhere between distribution and the frozen case, leaving about half the package (~8 rolls) refrozen into one giant lump. The rest rose decently enough to bake up nicely, making them a good buy for 50 cents. Laurel and I just had the last two. (:

Laurel was really excited about opening gifts this year, although she was more interested in food for most of the day. She had two bananas between brunch and Christmas dinner, then denied having them while the neatly-split peel of one was sitting on her table. Ha. Now she's barreling through a pad of Crayola Color Wonder paper and drawing lots of windows, houses, and people with navels, because that is what you do when you're four.

Hooray! I'm glad you liked that one. It's probably my favorite of the DFW short-fiction comps. I especially like "Forever Overhead" and the titular pieces. And "Adult World" is pretty keen, too.

I'll be diving into it after my conjunctivitis clears up. I'm itching to read or stitch right now, but my right eye isn't focusing well and I feel like a gimp reading LJ at 120 or 150% magnification.
